Early closing?

Whisperes School districts around the state are closed or closing early. I’m Trying to prepare for the day so does anyone think mcps is closing early?

I just heard a forecast for 1 inch of rain...no thought school might close.

Coastal areas have flood warnings, but at the risk of pointing out the obvious, MCPS doesn’t have any coastal areas at risk of flooding.

Op here i’m laughing at these replies. I know it’s a crazy question to even ask! My TV was going wild with all of the alerts about school closings, wind and rain and so the thought did cross my mind that our schools would close. I know my kids would be disappointed because they have parties this afternoon.

Hogan posted coastal flooding alerts last night. The areas projected for impact are along the Bay and Annapolis (the downtown waterfront often floods). His map didn’t flag anything remotely close to MoCo or PG or HoCo.

No, it's not. Anne Arundel County Public Schools are closed. MCPS has closed early due to wind/rain.

It’s more likely to impact trick or treating on Sunday than to close schools today.

Annapolis is already flooded, and high tide isn’t until noon.

Anne Arundel and Calvert are closed because of coastal flooding blocking many of the roads. But I don't foresee Montgomery closing because people may get wet.
