Sitting by the toilet on a flight - yes or no way?

Clearly I’m new to flying but where do you usually sit? The flight in mind has a row of two seats before the toilet then the others are three across including a center section of seats.

I usually check seat guru. But I would probably take a row of two in front of the toilet over a row of three (assuming there are two of us)

I don't really care about being near the toilet but if the toilet is in front of you, you may have less leg room (and no where to stash a bag) and if it's behind you, you may have no recline (not that I think you should be reclining on a domestic flight you monsters). But it could be even more upright than normal.

No..you will get all the people standing and waiting the whole flight

I make my selection based on aisle seat, wherever it is. Some people feel the same way about window. Sitting by the bathroom is obviously not first choice but if that's the only aisle available, that's what I'm going to take. Also, try to get as close to the front of the plane as possible for faster deplaning on arrival.

Aisle or window seat, far away from the toilet if I can avoid it. If you want to take a nap, you’ll constantly hear the door being flung open and the toilet flushing. And the potential smell is an added bonus.

+1. We travel a lot and hold out for a 5 row minimum distance from the bathrooms because people line up - and smells waft out!

A seat anywhere near the toilet is my last choice. Directly across from them would be the worst. Avoid at all costs.

Not directly next to the toilet, no.

I’ve never smelled an airplane bathroom. I think it gets like, sucked out.

People pee on the floor. They can be disgusting.

Sit at least 4 rows from the bathroom

Definite no on a long flight. under 2 hours, I don't really care -- few people use the toilet on brief flights.

This. I personally just like to be as close to the front of the plane as possible. If I had a choice between sitting near the lav or being in the back of the plane, i'm choosing the former.

+1

Short flight fine, if it is the front of the plane but long flight no way.
