| My kids are done with their violins and cellos. How do we most easily sell them? Do any stores buy them for resale? |
|
bulletin board. facebook marketplace. through mom network with other moms who have kids starting orchestra. craigslist.
a music store might buy them, but you would probably get a lower price. |
| I donated my kid's sax to our local elementary school. They wete so grateful! |

I consigned my daughter's violin at Potter's, the luthier in Silver Spring. It's going to take a little time to sell, since my daughter is small but advanced for her age, so the quality of the instrument is probably a little bit higher than what most families would pay for at that fractional size.
If your instruments are more run-of-the-mill, they will sell faster. |

+1 If they’re student-quality instruments, you won’t get much for them, but they might make a huge difference in the life of a low-income kid. |

| DCYOP has a parents facebook group, maybe you could try there. |
Yes to your local Facebook sale group. I sold a very generic beginner violin that I had ordered off of Amazon, and got about 3-4 immediate inquiries. |
I second this |
| Op here - thanks! Our were about $1,500 each new so not top quality but not nothing either. |
Depends what it is, OP. Different instruments won't have the same price range. |
| You can donate to DCYOP or any school that has a program, and take the tax deduction. Way less hassle and financially not that different. |
Not all of us can deduct…. |
