My husband accepted an invitation to go to a game at FedEx field with friends. We’ve gone to lots of DC United games with our baby so I’m assuming he didn’t think it would be any different. Turns out they don’t allow strollers, diaper bags, snacks, or bottles in the stadium. Anyone brought a baby and can share what they did? |
We used to have season tickets. I can't imagine bringing a baby to a game there. No way.
And I say this as someone who took our oldest to a college football game and Nats games when she was that age. |
Please don’t. This is so overstimulating for the baby and so loud. You need to put the baby’s needs first. Babies need routine, calm environments, and predictability in their lives to develop. Surely, one of you can miss the game, or get a sitter. |
Football games are way too much for a kid that age. I wouldn’t take a child until 5 or so, and only them if they were VERY comfortable with crowds, extremely loud noise, and aggressive behavior. And I’d still take precautions. Lots of people start tailgating at 8am and drink straight through. You have to be prepared for what that does to some people.
And I say this as someone who took an infant and toddler to dozens of soccer and baseball games, including baseball playoff games. Even that dies not compare to the rowdiness of NFL fans. Don’t do it. |
Hire a babysitter. |
Why would you want his early memories or dreams to be of that awful team? |
I have only ever gone to a concert there, but I cannot imagine doing this. If you drive the parking is like $80. We did rideshare and were trapped there. They were very strict about the bags. |
It's a miserable experience. At least they are too young to remember what people are yelling. |
I don't understand why you would want to do this or how the baby would benefit in any way. |
Love how no one answered the question 🙄 |
Because everyone else is too smart to have done so, and are sharing wisdom of why NOT to do it |
I have to agree with others op, the fact that they don’t allow any of those things is because they do not recommend children that young attend. We also attend lots of baseball games - fun for kids |
So you revived a 2+ year old thread to say this? |
Why would you even think it's a good idea to take an infant to a pro football game? |
My answer to the original question is no- I did bring a 2.5 year old to fedex field for a football game and we lasted the half. She was scared of the sounds, sat on my lap the whole time and was hungry after like thirty minutes. It was unpleasant. |
