Did you change your deodorant?

Newly pregnant here. I’m sweaty and stinky like I’ve never been before. I want to use a natural deodorant but I’m really gross and I am in person at work several days a week. Schmidts used to work well for me. Now even regular antiperspirant just almost works. Does this last the whole pregnancy? I feel awful wearing the chemical stuff.

Yes, sorry, but only waterproof secret clinical strength will work for me after pregnant hormones.

Earth mama worked for me but it gave me really bad rashes. I haven’t used aluminum deodorant in years and am still looking for the elusive natural one that works and doesn’t give me a reaction. Try earth mama and see if you’re less sensitive to it.

No help on the natural front, but what worked for me when I was in a similar situation is the following:

1. After you shower use a Noxema or Stri-Dex medicated pad to swipe over your armpits. It removes the bacteria that makes them stinky. Let them air dry then ...

2. Use a stick Anti-perspirant deodorant

3. And then layer on a spray version

Honestly, the natural stuff never helped with the odor so I switch off. Use the real deodorant on days when you’ll be working out or sweating heavily and the natural deodorant on off days and the weekends.

Schmidts is also the only natural one that has really worked for me. People rave about Native but I stank using that one.

So no real help from me, but I also second using an antibacterial soap on your armpits and stridex pads.

These two cream based deodorants worked for me after everything else failed. One is made in DC and Whole Foods used to carry it but I haven’t seen it in stock in a few months: https://www.shopmadeindc.com/product/beautyproducts/DeodorantbydistrictBATCH/2965. The other I ordered on Amazon but they switched to sell directly from the company, it’s called “Little Seed Farm All Natural Deodorant Cream”.

Link didn’t copy right but you can find the first rec online to order. It’s called District BATCH Deodorant- the Geranium smell was nice.

OP here. I already used natural deodorant. There’s Alzheimer’s in my family and I’m trying to hedge my bets but also don’t want to pollute baby. That being said I have to wear the strong stuff at work now.

Since Alzheimer’s was worse back when no one wore deodorant, it stand to reason there is no causation.

Alzheimer’s has never been worse than now.

Native works for me and so does Dove zero aluminum. I tried others, including Schmidt’s mentioned above, without success.
