| Seems so big! Thank you |
| If big state schools are your kid's thing then go for it! Seems like a fun school |
| It’s full of people from Ohio. |
| It is huge. How is your kid at handling his/her own stuff? |

Everybody I know that went loved it!
It a great college town. |
Okay, I only went to Ohio State for law school, and not undergrad but here is what I observed. First, getting your classes in the order you want is a struggle every semester for undergrads. All of the administrative stuff, including housing applications require hours of time. The campus is huge and planning is important on a day-to-day basis. There is an earnestness among the students - overwhelmingly white, MC and from Ohio that is both endearing and baffling for people from the coasts. Your child will be happy if big, sporty, greek, and social are their vibe. |
| solid T50 public school (If Pitt is a target I'd recommend it) |
I went to OSU for law school too! Class of 2007. Columbus has changed A LOT since I left. It's a great town and there are lots of opportunities for internships, state government, etc. The school is HUGE and is getting more and more competitive; I have a cousin with 4.0 and 1400 SATs from in-state public high school that got rejected. Agree that it's somewhat of a culture shock if your kid grew up here in the DMV. There are many kids who grew up in rural Ohio who have never met a person of color or someone who is not Christian. You will meet people who have never been out of the State, or never been on an airplane. The alumni network is huge, which is a big plus. Must love football. |
