| M’eh …. |
| I guess I live under a rock. I didn't realize a train derailed. |
+1. Since we went back to the office I’ve been driving in. Won’t get on Metro ever again because of the pandemic. |
| Is it Infrastructure Week yet? |
I hadn’t heard this either! https://www.washingtonpost.com/transportation/2021/10/12/metro-train-derailment-blue-line-arlington-cemetery/ |
| Anyone take it this am? How crowded were the trains? |
|
Sigh. Just in time for me to return to the office full-time next month.
We are a one-car household (we live close in to the District and I bike everywhere) and every week something happens to make me reconsider. With winter (shorter days/potentially icy roads) I am rethinking regular bike commuting. But if the metro is f'd... |
Because it was barely a derailment. When the people ON the car don’t even realize it has derailed, it’s not a big deal. |
Yes, please stay off! It’s so much better now without crowds. Don’t ever come back. It’s dangerous! You’ll die from a hybrid of covid and ebola as soon as you set foot inside the station! Keep away from metro!!! |
Without riders like PP, Metro will whither and die. No way will the jurisdictions fund it enough to support the current ridership and service. |
PP will find his/her completely jammed when everyone goes back to work and will have to rethink. The reason most of us were on the metro was because of the traffic. |
| I was in one of these new cars, and the axels started making horrific noises, scraping and banging. I don't remember that with the older cars. Is that possibly related to this derailing thing? |
How would anyone on here know this? |
Right, it's only a big deal if people notice and like... die. Stupid Metro wanting to keep people safe. |
