| Does anyone have any advice for recovery, foods, etc to keep my little one as happy as possible? Also, how was the experience for you? What can I expect? What advice can you share? We are staying in the hospital for 24 hours. Did you have issues when vomitting? What worked for you in general? Thanks. |

we just had our DS's tonsils out in early December-due to his age we did stay over night at the hospital-
As far as "recovery" foods-fluids are the most important thing (per drs orders) in fact if they are not urinating alot before they leave the hospital ( my son was in diapers so they weighed his diapers every 3 hours) they wont let you leave. My son is an an awful eater-BUT they say popsicles/fudgicles/ juice/my son actually ate a few coissants, pastina, scrambled eggs... Good luck-my only "surprise" was how long the recovery actually was-I expected it to be quicker as several parents said their kids rebounded quickly- my son also had his adnoids out too which i hear is a faster recovery BUT we had him home from daycare for 10 days and he laid on our coach for about 3 days..-I ended up getting my mom to come up and stay with him as I didnt have the ability to take the additional time off-by day 11 he was back to his normal self-and around day 7 he could start eating things like crackers..and chix tenders which are dietary staples at our house. Good Luck!! |
