| This is the only girl name DH and I have consensus on. Still not 100% sold… so crowdsourcing for opinions and impressions. We like that it’s short, pretty, and nature related. |
| Never liked it, OP. Sorry. But it’s better than Sophia or Ellie! |
|
no.
Ivy is a weed too. A nasty invasive weed that kills trees. |
|
Not a fan. Most ivy is ugly and poison ivy is a bad association.
|
| As long as your last name is not “League”. (sorry, bad joke). |
| We have a lovely and sweet middle school Ivy. Family name, and aware of the “poison ivy” jab but she’s handled it fine. |
|
Nay. I hate ivy. It’s where rats live.
What about Holly? |

NMS.
I prefer Cassia or Luna. |
| I like it. I knew a girl named Ivy in high school. She was very striking (beautiful think dark hair and very pale skin, kind of goth) and creative. My association with the name is similar -- that it suits an artistic, thoughtful, maybe slightly offbeat or bohemian kid. Not sure if that is the vibe you are going for, but that's what it makes me think of. All of that sounds good to me, so I like the name. |
| I think it's a pretty name. |
| Nay. And I love nature names. Ivy just isn’t pretty in nature or as a name, IMO. |
|
I like the name, but dislike the connotations. But then, when I meet an Ivy, I don't think of the connotations.
|
| Jessa Duggar Seewald’s daughters are Ivy and Fern. |
|
No, I really think it’s an ugly name.
Have you gone through nature-themed name sites? There are a lot of beautiful nature-themed simple names. |
| I hate it, but I know several girls named Ivy. They're fine. Use it if you must, but it isn't great. |
