Morgan Wade - who does she sound like to you?

A few weeks ago, Spotify served up a new song to me - "Wilder Days," by Morgan Wade, and I was instantly taken with her voice. It seems to be a mix of Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, or Sheryl Crow. Anyhow, I haven't been surprised by a voice and a song's hook in a long time. She's also from Floyd, Virginia and will be playing at the 9:30 club soon.

I liked this, I heard some Brandi Carlile influences. But was distracted by her tattoos, shame.

I like her and have been following her for a while, since the days she was just starting out and doing free shows. Happy to see her success.

I'm late to the game, but Reckless has been my top album of 2022. Love that her voice is so distinctive, love the raw lyrics. I think she has great style, that video with Kip Moore was hot and on stage she usually seems to have a cool androgynous swagger that so unusual for a woman in country music.
