| I give her credit for taking some on air time to make people aware of how important it is to get skin checks, and pay attention if your moles change. You go girl! |
| I’m sorry to hear this. She’s a brilliant woman. Wishing her a full recovery. |
|
Wow she’s had a rough year - no wonder she insisted on changing her show to one day a week.
Her wife also nearly died from Covid-19 in 2020. |
|
When did her show go to one day a week?
|
It was announced in August. It’s not even every week. She says she’s going to do 35 shows a year which is more like - 2-3 times a month. https://www.cnn.com/cnn/2021/08/24/media/rachel-maddow-msnbc-succession-plan/index.html |
No, she’s still doing her show as normal for another year, then after that she’ll have specials. That’s where the 35/year number is coming from. https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/24/media/rachel-maddow-msnbc-succession-plan/index.html |
It’s not another year. Her show is off the air in spring of 2022. That’s less than six months away. |
| I rarely watch RM, but I happened to see this live last night. WHY ON EARTH does it take her 20 minutes to say something that could have taken 2??? |
This isn’t unusual for people who think their words are a blessing upon us. |
It drives me nuts. Especially because I love RM in theory - I agree with everything she says and think she is great. But I cannot watch her because she drones on and on. And on. |
Maybe it's filling their time slot. Maybe it's narcissism. I remember years ago a local radio host did something similar about his cancer diagnosis. Drug it out for what seemed like an hour. Just say it! Then if you want to discuss in more detail, do it. |
she is at her best with long form deep dives and that does not lend itself to a daily show. I, for one, am looking forward to her new show. |
+1 Sorry to hear about her diagnosis, but I can't stand the woman. |
|
I am sure it was emotional for her people.
Can you have a heart and believe that she was trying to save lives by sharing her difficult news? |
