Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| Anyone here familiar with Forest Knolls? I'm specifically looking for feedback on 4th and 5th grades, teacher quality, class size, GT and LD services ... |
| Well, yes, I've seen that, thanks. I was hoping for some actual feedback. |

I don't have recent info but I will say that my siblings and I went there as children and have so many fond memories of this school. My youngest sibling made such strong bonds with her classmates that they still keep in touch as adults.
The fact that it is an inclusion school with physically handicapped kids is a wonderful experience for children and I think it teaches them to respect all types of people. My thoughts are that if you're zoned for this school you've lucked out. |
| I live in the Forest Knolls School District. My child is too young to attend, but FK has a very good reputation. My child is in the early intervention program and one of the service providers thinks it is a really good school because they are so inclusive. |
| I just got a tour of the school. I am soooo impressed. I was touring for my child to attend the special ed Pre-K, but what excellent facilities and the whole philosophy is so inclusive - in the whole school. The whole school was set up to be inclusive. We hope he will be assigned to their program for the fall. |

I went there for 1st and 2nd grade and have such fond memories of that experience (I'm in my 30's now). One of my best friends at the time Karen had special needs (maybe CP but I really don't know) and I was allowed to attend her PT session every so often as a special treat. I remember it being so much fun....
I do remember getting super impatient/annoyed (as a first/second grader mind you) at how long it took to get everyone on the buses at the end of the day. It was brutal waiting for lifts for everyone's wheelchairs on all those buses.
Wonderful school!! |
