12 month old did not get 3 yr old’s vicious cold!

Anonymous
Our 3 yr old started preschool last month and this is his second cold. He gave the first cold to the baby, me and nanny but not this second one. I’m shocked. They are together all the time at home and with his little nose running like a faucet, I couldn’t even wash my hands after blowing his nose. She wants everything he has and puts everything in her mouth.

Not to start a war here, but do you think it’s because I’m still breastfeeding her?

Obviously it's because you're breastfeeding.

Yes, most likely. Ignore the idiot posters. Breastfeeding is proven to provide some immunity when the mother is also exposed. This is well known.

Yeah this is why we all breastfeed. Nice to know that you don’t need to worry about baby getting sick.

Just stop. Of course breastfeeding has some immunity benefits. Jesus, why is this such a ridiculous debate?

Lucky. I’m breastfeeding my 3 month old and she still caught my preschooler’s cold.

Breastfeeding mom here and my 8mo has caught all his brother's colds. We are EBF.

The research is that BF prevents one GI bug on average, not respiratory.

I had a cold all week and baby still hasn’t caught it from me. Am with him 24/7. Maybe it’s the bf

There’s no research that can prove a negative, PP. It doesn’t exist and couldn’t exist.
