Pain after egg retrieval

Got bad cramping and pain after retrieval today. I had the painkillers they prescribed but still in pain. How did you manage the pain? And how long does it take to go away?

How many eggs were retrieved, OP?

I hadn’t more than 20 eggs retrieved during my first retrieval. I had fairly significant pain for several days afterwards. I only ever took Tylenol. I was borderline for OHSS, so watched things closely (you should have too if your doc told my you to be watchful). My second retrieval I had only seven eggs retrieved and no pain at all. Didn’t even take Tylenol and was back to work 12 hours later. It was really night and day, in my case the more eggs equal the more pain and longer recovery.

A heating pad really helped me.

5 eggs, 3 fertilized.
My previous cycle had 17 eggs and 13 fertilized. So crossing fingers.

First retrieval yielded more eggs than this time, but the pain is worse this time.
