Biden's SOTU

Every person I have talked to thought the speech was great and it even swayed my independent aunt who was leaning towards not voting. Let's just hope he doesn't do anything stupid now before November.

Biden had never uttered her name until the SOTU, and then he botched it.
He has never contacted her parents.
He will not acknowledge that his policies and lack of border security has led to this killer - and the killers of other Americans - into our country.

Laken Riley was an innocent victim.
She has become the face of Biden's border crisis.

Is the president supposed to call the family of every person who dies in the USA?

Trump never spoke to the families of the US troops killed in Africa under his watch. I didn't see you getting upset over that.

Yes - Trump did call the families of the soldiers killed in Niger.
Let's see.......
I recall him speaking frequently of George Floyd and even meeting with the family of George Floyd.

And, the murder of Laken Riley was far more egregious since she was a totally innocent victim.

He called one and told the widow “i guess that’s what he signed up for”. Quit pretending Trump was better at anything. He was not.

Are Trump and Biden really good at anything useful? No, that's why their approval ratings are so low. They are piss-poor leaders. I' still think Biden is the better option of the two but it is a comparison of two complete jokes running for the most powerful position in the world through 2029.

They are very very different and Biden is vastly superior. Analysis of the difference between these two is not your strong suit.

It's not difficult to picture them both as inept vegetables in 2027. Oh by the way, they are seeking office to lead the most powerful country in the world until 2029. Easy choice of neither for any educated person.

The majority of voters will be choosing Biden and that is the easy choice.

Trump average approval rating- 41%, Biden average approval rating 39%. I'm pretty sure the majority of voters have made it very clear that Trump and Biden are anything but easy choices for another presidential term. They are complete jokes as major party nominees for this job until 2029. This is easy for anyone to see if they take their goggles of political bias off long enough to see reality for what it is.

Trump does not even respect the outcome of elections....the most fundamental part of our democracy. There is no contest between these two.

The only thing for sure is that Biden is a better option than Trump for the POTUS position. Otherwise, they are the two weakest presidential candidates in our history and neither should be occupying The White House until 2029.

That is not at all "for sure."
The American people are suffering. There are conflicts across the globe that DID NOT exist when Trump was president. And, Biden doesn't seem to have a plan.
No way in hell I would vote for him.

Here is what he said in response to Jonathan Capehart's question:

“An undocumented person. And I shouldn’t have used ‘illegal.’ It’s ‘undocumented,’” Biden said.

“So you regret using that word?” Capehart pressed him.

“Yes,” Biden replied.

“He talks about ‘vermin.’ The way he talks about these people ‘polluting the blood.’ I talked about what I’m not going to do. What I won’t do, I’m not going to treat any of these people with disrespect,” Biden said.

The president added, “I don’t share [Trump’s] view at all,” saying that immigrants “built the country, [are] the reason our economy is growing,” but still, “we have to control the border and more orderly flow.”

So - you be the judge. Is he showing more concern for the killer migrant or the citizen this migrant killed?

I don't know about you, but I have no respect for this killer. And, vermin might be an appropriate term to describe him.

ver·min: people perceived as despicable and as causing problems for the rest of society.

Yep. Very appropriate.
And, did these illegals "build our country" like Biden claims? Hmmm...........

No one cares about this. People want action. There is a bi-parisan bill ready to help the issue and the GOP is sitting on it. Either move the bill forward or get dumped so someone else will do the job in congress and move the country forward.

So you are saying the Turks were not bombing Syria before 2021? That the Palestianians and Isreal haven't been at each other's throats for decades? That Russia wasn't in Crimea?

Please.

The reason there are sparks now is because Trump isn't in office kowtowing to the other dictators and autocrats.

So the question is, do we let the dictators and autocrats roll over other countries, or do we stand for democracies, wherever they exist?

BREAKING: Joe Biden’s wild economic claims during his State of the Union address were fact-checked six times by The New York Times.

1. “15 million new jobs in just three years — a record,” Biden claimed.
• The Times ruled the claim needed context because the job gains “were beginning to return” before Biden came to office from the huge losses during the pandemic.

2. “My policies have attracted $650 billion in private sector investment, in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, creating tens of thousands of jobs here in America!”
• The Times ruled Biden’s statement lacked context and Biden calculated $650 billion based on “public announcements of investments — not necessarily dollars spent — across industries targeted by Mr. Biden’s legislative accomplishments.”

3. “I am cutting our carbon emissions in half by 2030.”
• The Times determined that Biden’s statement lacked context and Biden confused his goal of cutting emissions in half with what his actual policies would cut.

4. “We’ve already cut the federal deficit over a trillion dollars.”
•The Times ruled Biden’s claim needed context:
Under Mr. Biden’s watch, the federal deficit dropped to $1.4 trillion in fiscal year 2022 from $3.1 trillion in fiscal year 2021 — but much of that reduction was attributed to the expiration of coronavirus relief spending. The deficit then rose in 2023, to about $1.7 trillion. The deficit remains higher than it was before the coronavirus pandemic.

5. “You know, there are 1,000 billionaires in America. You know what the average federal tax is for these billionaires? They are making great sacrifices: 8.2 percent. That’s far less than the vast majority of Americans’ pay.”
•The Times reported Biden’s claim did not “technically” reflect the current tax rate.

6. “Many of my friends on the other side of the aisle want to put Social Security on the chopping block.”
•“Republicans are not currently calling for cuts to Social Security,” the Times said. Former President Trump, in fact, said in 2022 that he would never cut Social Security.

On #6, the Times is lying. The Republican Study Committee, which comprises 175 House Republicans ("many") proposed significant cuts to Social Security. Of course, we all know that Trump always keeps his word.

They sure as hell do care.
They know that Biden has been a total disaster for the border. We have seen his "policies" for 3 years and the voters don't like it.
The ones who will get dumped are the Biden administration - Joe and all the leftists pulling his strings.

You try crafting an appropriate message for these difficult issues when you're 81 years old. Biden is doing the best he can. Give him some space.

If he is unable to "craft" a simple message about illegal aliens and is more concerned about the euphemisms he is required to use.........he does not deserve the job. The "best he can do" is not good enough.

Of course he shouldn't have the job. That's a no-brainer. This being said; we'd be in even worse hands if Trump were president so we're damned either way. Great times in America!
