I even think SJC will be the underdog against Gonzaga in two weeks.

Bullis lost to STA last week by 4 goals and STA had a comfortable lead the entire game.

STA is the most up and down team around. Will get up but will also play down and ugly when they think they are better than their opponent. Not consistent in the slightest.

STA is a strange team. They can compete with the best when they think they are the underdog. On the other hand, they seem to play awful when they think they are the better team.

STA needs to get one of it's best defenders back on the field to make a legit run. (D1 commit that has been out for almost 2 months).

Cabell is a great announcer. Knowledgeable, up beat, complimentary of both teams. He supports DC lacrosse.

You do it nerd. Or find someone better.

Agree, leave your personal bias out of this.

If it weren't for Cabbell I wouldn't have been able to watch the game this evening and be on a work Zoom.

Cabbel has historical knowledge of DC area lacrosse better than most and I think he is pretty objective. He always tends to compliment players from both teams.

Prep is a good team. Last year's SJC team was a great one. This year's SJC team is a good one too. We'll never know who'd win a head-to-head match up because Prep chose to load up on .500 teams from KY and NC instead of scheduling better local competition. Prep's best wins of the year is a 5th place MIAA team (LB) and second place WCAC team (GZ). SJC's best wins are third place MIAA team (BL) and second place IAC team (Bullis).

Did you watch SJC tonight? Not a “good” team. Mediocre with a few good moments. They were down the most of the game.

"Nerd" Wow, you need to do better than that. Cab was fired by SJC , has kids on Landon's varsity and runs MadLax which alot of SJC players are not on. Also at one point, he did not know SJC was 19-0 last year and thought 2002 was the first time SJC beat GZ in lacrosse. Cab is an IAC homer and biased against SJC. Sure, his "color" guy was an SJC guy who played for him and had to constantly correct him. Other than that, I stand by my comments and you can add Booker Corrigan to the insufferable announcer list as well.

When was the last time St. John’s has lost in the DMV? Shhhhh

It’s so old and embarrassing for you to keep saying this over and over. SJC is not very good this year and are not #1 is the DMV anymore. Bullis lost to STA and almost beat SJC. All the rankings show who is the #1 team in the area.

Off game. Gave the number 1 team in the country a run last game. IAC sucks this year. Open your eyes.

Maddox does alot to grow DMV lax. If your son didn’t make the Madlax team just move on.

Comical that Maddox couldn’t remember who finished number one in the country last year. How do you forget the best team in DMV lacrosse history?

Did you copy this comment from another threat on this forum? Because its a very typical response to any criticism of any coach or club

We get it. You don’t like him because his program cut your kid. Just let it go. Go play for NL.

I think this game is positive for SJC.
1) Winning an away game at night against a talented cross town rival is hard to do
2) That first half was so atrocious it looked like a mid tier public school. Something was off but it was evident that the true SJC team showed up in the second half. If that egg doesn’t happen they win by 8. I know it happened but it was so bad it was an outlier from their previous performances.

I mean, the measure of great teams and runs is wins and losses. SJC hasn't lost in the DMV in years, apparently Prep ducked them, so...

Hard to take anything away from Speaks and Co.

New year, new team. Stop riding the coat tails of last year's team, it's embarrassing. None of these teams are the same as they were last year, some are better and some are worse. It's ok. Live in the moment. SJC is not 19-0 this year and hey are not the best team in the dmv. Period. Facts.

Cabell said in the livestream tonight that he would like to host a DMV championship with the two best teams from both the IAC and the WCAC. He should do it. I am sure he could get sponsors as it would be a very popular event.

Agree that last year should be forgotten. What’s SJCs best win this year? BL. What’s preps best win? Gonzaga. I still think SJC is better because prep has shown that they can’t hang with good offenses. No competent team lets up 17 goals in a game. No one will ever agree who’s the best, but if you’re looking at overall body of work and strength of schedule. SJC>Prep
