That is some truth right there. People in harder nearby schools cross enroll at HKS for easy As. It takes no brains and no hard work to graduate from there with a 4.0. They actually allow students to write 3-10 page papers in most classes. At graduate school!!!! What type of research is that? I personally never hire a graduate from there as the degree is so easy to get. Classes there were easier than my high school classes.

HKS = Harvard degrees sold for foreign government dollars. I know a bunch of foreign diplomats and finance ministry types who have gone there on their government’s dime. It’s a vanity degree to help them get ahead in their home countries.

I'm a KSG grad, albeit from the last century. I agree that graduating is no guarantee of brilliance. Still, I think most MPP grads are good, and some are great, and students who are interested can learn a lot.

Also, there's a difference between the 2 year MPP and one year midcareer MPA (often sent by foreign governments). MPP academic standards for admission were much tougher.

Finally, although courses were easier than in the academic PhD programs (like econ and poli sci), I heard MBA courses were the easiest.

MPP degrees (public policy schools in general) just about anywhere are cashcows for rich internationals.

What part of public policy can you not learn through Google?

What part of mathematics can you not learn from Google, including Google scholar?

Pretty much anything beyond basic algebra. Try it.

Yeah, I knew a lot of HKS grads and SIPA grads and LSE grads and GMU grads -- you get the picture. The LSE grads make bank, but the other ones? 35-year-olds struggling to make $70,000 with a degree that cost them $400,000 with interest. Fun times.

There are some LSE degrees that are also for internationals with no rigor. The “Let’s See Europe” programs.

Aren’t many of these degrees paid for by employers? I have a SAIS degree but it was almost entirely paid for by an employer

I went to MIT. Harvard's entire undergraduate program is a joke. Somethj g like 80% graduate with a 4.0? MIT doesn't accept grades from other institutions except Cambridge. Guaranteed that's because MIT student would take Harvard classes to boost our GPAs.

A lot of those public policy schools teach really basic undergrad-level material.

Basic two more years of college, with a lot of older folks and slightly more advanced classes, but not up to the rigor of master's level research-intensive courses.
