This is so frustrating. I was at a park with my daughters in south Arlington early this afternoon and Ana’s Kids (daycare in 22202) brought at least two unmasked kids with REALLY raspy coughs to the playground. During a pandemic. WTF. |
You’re in an open air park. Kids cough all winter every year. Welcome to toddlerhood. |
Are you really this stupid? Unaware that there’s a global pandemic still going on? This isn’t “all winter every year.” OP should call the Health Department. |
This. My kid had a cold two weeks ago and currently has a "raspy cough". She is not contagious and has been cleared by a doctor but sometimes this happens. She wears a mask at PK but takes it off to eat and nap, and thankfully her teachers understand that this is normal for kids this age and that you can't expect to keep children out of school for weeks on end until it resolves. |
Parenthood is going to be a looooong haul for OP.
Her post is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. |
Yes, I'd like to see OP call the Health Department, if only to hear their hysterical laughter when she says why she is calling. |
And say what? Preschool age kids are not required to mask, especially not outside. And I guarantee you those kids have negative Covid tests because that's required almost anywhere in order to send kids into daycare/school with anything resembling Covid symptoms. The Health Department has actual important things to focus on (haven't you heard there's a global pandemic going on?) and addressing OP's paranoia should not make the cut. |
Doesn’t everyone know that Covid is over? |
There are signs up everywhere saying don’t use facilities (including parks) if you’re sick. Highly doubt this daycare cares if these kids had negative Covid tests. The caregivers just sit there and gossip on the benches while the kids are doing god knows what. Not a good daycare, but I’m sure you get what you pay for. |
Did you leave? |
So stay away from them. Problem solved. What a child you are, OP. |
We did leave. Daycare kids. Yuck. |
Geez. What a gross human you are. |
My preschooler is prone to asthma and with each and every mild cold/bug regularly has a lingering cough that lasts 3-4 weeks after other symptoms subside. In each instance that this has materialized post Covid, we have gotten a negative COVID test, waited for other cold symptoms to subside and then sent her back to daycare (with the approval of her pediatrician), where yes, they regularly make trips to the playground. Thankfully they are less neurotic than you or by this point either DH or I would be jobless. |
OP here. I didn’t write that. Whoever did is a real jerk. |
