Mouth sore or toothache?

Anonymous
I think my toddler may have mouth sore or toothache because she cries now when I ask her to eat or drink anything. She has no problem eating crackers and cookies, but she cries when I ask her to eat a bite of her favorite yogurt or drinks a sip of water. She will just eat a spoon of yogurt or a sip of water, and no more and starts crying. I yelled at her a lot yesterday because she was not eating or drinking any fluid, so I am not sure it could be part of the reason why she is emotional.

She was feeling unwell with low grade fever that lasted for 24 hours only, and then disappeared with no symptoms. She was checked by pediatrician on Tuesday and covid negative, and now fever free for 24 hours. Should I get her seen by pediatrician or dentist or wait and see now. Because she has not been eating much, so she has not pooped for 4 days. Miralax?

Take her to the doctor. She might have strep or something.

So she can eat crackers and cookies, but cries when drinking water?

Can you do a pedialyte popsicle to make sure she stays hydrated?

BTW, kids don't like being pressured to eat, so stop trying to force her or you'll make it worse.

Why would you yell at her if she’s not feeling well? Take her to the doctor

If the doctor can’t find anything, take her to the dentist. I had the same issue with DD and found out it was a pediatric gum disease she needed medication for.

Before taking her to see dentist ( because she never cooperates and cries the whole time), anyway I can get some ointment on her gum or teeth to try it out first? Anything otc for her age that she can swallow and eat? She is eating more today but I am confused that she sometimes whines while eating pointing at her teeth, but sometimes she eats happily with her teeth. I am confused by her inconsistent behavior, and I don't think it is strep throat ( no problem swallowing) or Hand mouth foot disease. I try to use flashlight to look at her mouth and teeth, she cries so much and I could not see what is wrong inside and out.

Really!? I just google symptom, for hand foot and mouth, it matches that she had fever Monday night till Tuesday night (1 day fever), mouth sore, poor appetite, runny nose ( a tiny little bit), a bit coughing, and I just see 2 tiny blister like thing on one of her hand ( but I think I saw that 1 month ago). BUT, I don’t see any skin rashes on her body, on hand, on foot, in mouth ( I have checked a bit), and on face!! And, no one in family ( even other older kid) has got anything from her yet and I cosleep with her. I don’t think it is HFM.

Why haven’t you taken her to the doctor?
