MSDE Report on Number of teachers vaccinated by County

Anonymous
This information is found on page 7 of the report. After keeping schools closed for so long, not one county has more than 90% of its teachers vaccinated. The range runs from a low of 48% in Dorchester County to a high of 87% (PG County.)

Montgomery County reported an 80% vaccination rate out of the 82% who responded.

It is not entirely clear whether this data includes only teachers or all educators and staff.

So you think that the vaccination rate in the 18% who didn't reply is significantly higher than those who did? I wouldn't expect that to be the case.

Why not? Some teachers feel like the Google Forms were not a secure way to collect this info. Others were annoyed that MCPS didn’t for more to help teachers get vaccinated but wants to take credit for the majority of teachers being vaccinated.

Well I would expect that non-vaccinated teachers would also have reasons that they might not want to fill in the google form. They also might have concerns about the security and if their job is on the line then they wouldn't really want to report that.

Regardless, even if 100% of the 18% who didn't participate were vaccinated, that would only take the MCPS vaccination rate to 83%.
