| Hi Dash can you tell me how much you pay to have your garden installed. We are getting quoted $15,000 for 1/3 of an acre. Probably 250 plants and shrubs. |
| Merrifield charges 40% of the cost of your plants for installation. |

What exactly is included in the 15K. Is it just planting? Is it planting and mulching? Do they have to create the planting beds, or are they planting into existing beds? What's the split of the plants, like what % perennials, shrubs, trees?
One of the problems with asking strangers to cost out your landscaping project, is that none of us have any insight into what is actually being done. For instance, planting a gallon sized perennial is quite different from planting a 10 gallon tree. |
I'm assuming it's a speech to text error. |

We just can’t tell you, OP. It depends on whether there is any hard landscape in that (raised beds? Paths?), how big the plants are, whether they are trees or Perennials, if they needs to remove sod and dig beds, whether your soil needs ammendments, and whether they’ll be adding mulch.
I could easily blow a few thousand bucks at a nice nursery on plants if I had the money. They aren’t necessarily cheap, and big trees can be very expensive. What are you having done? |
| 250 plants at $30 a plant is $7.5k. Then another 7k for labor and soil/mulch. Prib some plants- larger perennials would be more and smaller ones less but more labor to plant lots of small plants. Does this include tilling, extra soil, compost, mulch? I was quoted about $2-3k for labor to plant my front lawn which is like 25x50ft. |

I just priced a garden for a new client for almost that much space for $46,000. Several large trees and large shrubs. The patio, step and paths and drainage work was $60K. A job I’m putting in tomorrow on a half acre has a garden that cost $11,000. Absolutely no way to guess if it’s a fair or reasonable price OP.
