CDC studies show masks lessen school outbreaks

This seems like a no brainer

Sadly, I’m not sure the anti-maskers have or use that organ

Did they control for other factors like community spread? Places with strong mask mandates had more people behaving responsibly outside of school and maybe inside of it too. They took covid more seriously, social distanced, tested when sick or even periodically, didn’t have play dates etc. Are these differences filtered out so all you see is the impact of masks? Just curious. If only because I do hope that we can find a way to live without them in 2022 or 2023. Years in masks 40 hrs a week is depressing.

Seems like a no-brainer. DS' school (he's in 3rd grade) requires masks though they don't have to wear them for outdoor recess or for lunch in the cafeteria. They have been in school for a month and they had 3 cases at the beginning but have had zero cases the past 14 days (staff and students). In our district of 4 elem. schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school the current cases are 9.

Masks work in the school setting.

Oh and I'll add that I live in a state with roughly 60% vaccination rate (severely lacking in the under 22 community) and a lot of people who don't wear masks, even if they are vaxxed.

Just read the actual Arizona study, and it does not account for any other factors (vaccination rate and community spread). Not a great scientific study, but when studies are conducted with predetermined desirable outcomes these are the results we get.

That didn't stop the plague rats from spreading that article about rural schools in Wisconsin and community spread.

Exactly this. So much manipulation.
