S/O Car seats in Forrester

Spin off from the Audi thread.

We are in the process of buying a 2020 Forrester right as our kid is aging out of her infant seat. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a convertible seat that works well in this car? Something we can keep rear facing for a while (though our kid is carsick prone so we might be turning it around sooner rather than later). Thanks!

We loved this car. Try the Chicco Nextfit.

We have a Forester and had a Chicco NextFit. Loved both.

Be aware that you cannot put a car seat, or a normal booster (maybe a bubble bum) in the center seat of a Forester. I read a lot about a "car seat friendly re-design" and thought that it would work, but it doesn't and the manual says not to.

It's really not a car that comfortably seats 5 adults (we put 5 people in it but it's really uncomfortable). But if you are carrying 1-4 people, it's great. I love driving it.

OP here and oh no! We really prefer to put the car seat in the middle and it looked like it would work... this has me rethinking. Maybe the 2021 would be better? We found a great deal on a 2020 with almost no miles on it but this might be a deal breaker.

Another with the Forester and Nextfit and love both. But yeah, if it’s a year that wasn’t redesigned, the car seat can’t go in the middle.

Take the car seat (even your bucket seat) on a test drive and see how it installs.

How do you put the car seat in the middle? I would have such a hard time getting her in and out? My back couldn’t handle it.
