carseats in an Audi Q7?

Anonymous
Anyone have any experience with young kids in a Q7? We really want a third row car, but our two kids will be in bucket car seats for at least another few years. I'm trying to understand if we put both car seats in the second row if we'd even be able to USE the third row of it's more like a theoretical option once the kids are out of carseats.

Bucket seats as in rear-facing? Unless you are installing them next to each other and able to slide the seat by the door forward, I don’t see how you could use the third row.

I think the audit second row seats slide forward so you can access the third row. I found their seats to be very clunky though and the third row was very cramped for my 9 year old. Ended up with the GLS with capitals chairs. You can access third row feom between captains chairs.

But does the seat slide very far forward with a rear facing car seat? Or even a forward facing one? I don’t think so…

We have 2021 Q7 and no, you will not able to move the seat far enough forward to get in. The way to enter and exit the third row requires you to put the seat back down and the push a handle to lift it up.

Watch this video - around the 4 minute mark and you will see that if move the seat forward, there is not enough room to for someone to slide in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5vZvcO51as

If you want an SUV with a third row, look for ones with captain chairs in the 2nd rows, not a bench.
