I like both the low bun and the top of the head bun look. I have newly long hair and have no idea how to do this. It's obviously not twisted around. How does it work? I have straight hair so I need to be able to do it neatly. |
Lots of you tubes.

Buy one of those bun "donuts."

Do you mean a "sock bun?" |
I have longer hair and I find that I still use one of the bun form things to keep the bun looking really neat. |
What is newly long hair? An extension? |
No, I just phrased it strangely. I just meant that I've had a chin length bob forever and have grown it out to shoulder length since the pandemic started. So it's new for me to have long hair as an adult. |
I’m not sure shoulder length is going to do what you’re hoping. I have waist length and have had everything from shoulders to where I’m at now and it needs to be between shoulder and bra length to really be workable. |
I do twist it around and just secure with hair ties. Is your hair thin? In which case you would need one of those filler things. |
No to the donut bun. They look fake and obnoxious |
Google “sock bun”. You can do this in a way where it looks polished and not fake. |
+1 |
I kind of fold mine once, then wrap elastic around it. Voila! The Paul Mitchell spray is great to smooth over all the hair. I spray around, then swipe it up into the bun. |
You might need the mini plastic hair clips to keep shorter pieces up near the neck |
The only women I know that do this are either dance moms or military. And yes they look fake |
