Have they merged clubs? Just noticed they are listed as a merged club in the EDP league.

My DS team played against FCI over the Summer in SuperY. They were playing on a merged team with PAC. They are a small Hispanic club. Maybe looking for a more financially stable club to help keep them alive.

Whats racist here? I had never heard of the before we played them, They are a smaller club in MD Almost 100% Hispanic players and staff. After Covid many mergers happen to keep smaller clubs from financially folding. Nothing racist ever crossed my mind. Please explain why you were offended?

PP may have used the wrong word in racist but the statement can definitely be taken as offensive. PP stated that they are a "small Hispanic club. Maybe looking for a more financially stable club to help keep them alive." as if the two thoughts are related. Even if they weren't, the could have worded it better. Its more of a microaggression like a subtle dig that they were in financial trouble because they are a Hispanic club. PP also could have just said they were a small club- or- they could have meant exactly as its written. Sorry if you aren't able to see that.

I think the PP was describing the entire thing fine . If you read the thread another PP said they never heard of them. I think the PP was describing the club so maybe they might recognize them. But unless you are looking to be offending nobody thought they were being racist.

The PP Described them as :

A. small = not many teams = A lot less money coming in.

B. Hispanic = almost all of the players and coaches were hispanic= communicated in Spanish virtually the entire game to each other.

C. merged with another club to play in Super Y

D. merger with another club to play in EDP league.

E. Covid hit many clubs hard finically = some small clubs folded = some merged with other clubs.

All facts no racism there.
