I have a doc appointment next week, but in the meantime I’m asking the masses…
So, I had a miscarriage in early August. Doctor monitored HCG and it went down to zero. He also told me I could try again after my first full cycle which in theory would be around the end of September per his best guess. Well….it took 7 months the first time (I’m over 40). And didn’t mean to try per say, but I did have unprotected sex once a few weeks back. And yes I know there is little distinction between that and trying. Well, my boobs hurt and I was falling asleep at 9:30 and didn’t want wine…so I decided to take a test. I got 2 lines. Anyone know of risks getting pregnant again so quickly? Is there a reason he said to wait a month? Did I doom this pregnancy by trying too early? |

There are no real risks and the wait is really only suggested to get accurate dating.
That said as someone who has had many chemical pregnancies I’d still be worried it’s fluctuating HGC. |
I did wonder but my boobs are really enormous and hurt like heck. But yeah, I am nervous about another miscarriage especially cause I’m old. |
| I got pregnant the cycle immediately after a 6 week miscarriage. Went on to carry full term a healthy baby. I was a bit surprised since we weren't "trying" that month and I was waiting to do a HSG but instead got pregnant! |
| I’ve actually read that getting pregnant soon after a miscarriage is easier and often works well! |
| I got pregnant right away after a miscarriage. Baby is healthy. |
| I miscarried and got pregnant on the exact same timeframe and baby is healthy, fully formed human! |
Me too. Didn’t wAit the recommended month. |
| My understanding is there could be a slight risk it doesn’t implant enough and thus a slightly increased risk of miscarriage, but if you don’t mc then you’re good. This was based off obsessive google consensus when I was in this boat. My daughter is now 3 so it worked fine here. Good luck to you. Really hope this is it! |
| I’m on my third pregnancy post two miscarriages - haven’t had a real period since the spring. Hasn’t worked out for me obviously (hoping this one atleast sticks) but my doctor said there’s no correlation between miscarriage and pregnancy immediately after one. |

I got pregnant having sex 2 weeks after a miscarriage. There was some confusion in confirming and dating the pregnancy. And it was a tough pregnancy with bed rest and slightly premature (35 weeks), but she came home from the hospital with me. And the pregnancy before it has similar issues, and miscarriage wasn’t an issue.
