Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I've just started my first IVF cycle at SG. I am scheduled to have my Lupron evaluation tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what they look for at the evaluation? How many antral follicles should I have? What should my estrogen level be? Will I start my stims (Gonal F and Luveris) tomorrow as well?
TIA! |

They want to make sure you have no cysts and are adequately suppressed. If you had an OK number of follicles at your pre-IVF appointment, I wouldn't worry that your number would be too low.
You'll likely get a call later that day saying that everything looks good and you can start that night (So you start stims the night of the lupron eval appointment). Good luck!!!!! |

Thanks poster 13:10!
How do they know if you are adequately suppressed? |
| Not the PP. I hope everything went well yesterday. There are a couple of other things they check at the Lupron eval. One is your hcg level to ensure you are not preggo. And, secondly, they need to ensure your estrogen level is appropriate to start stims. If your estrogen level is too high, then they may not start stims. And, if you have a cyst and elevated estrogen, then it is indicative of an estrogen producing cyst and your cycle could be delayed or cancelled. Good luck! |
OP here...thank you everyone for your replies! So helpful as always. Good news, my estrogen level was 22 and my AFC was 12 so I've been given the green light to start stimming tonight! Alrighty...onto the next phase/challenge.
