Flu shot for 4 year old

Anonymous
My 4 year old doesn’t have his well visit until November, and ped office isn’t scheduling flu clinics for at least another 2 weeks. Can I go to any drugstore for his shot, or is at 4 does he still need to get the kid’s flu shot at the ped office?

We also just moved to a cold weather state where winter weather lasts much longer (and I’m assuming flu season might be a bit longer?). Is wnd of September the best time to get the shot, regardless of where in the US you live?

Target! They give you a $5 coupon. Then I let my kid use the $5 to buy something and now they freaking LOVE getting their flu shots.

I generally aim for October here because flu season runs through March and it's most protective the first 6 months. It doesn't mean it's useless though if you get it earlier. So really anytime now is fine, but I do avoid getting it in August.

Thank you! I’ll shoot for first week of October at Target.

Check the age limit before you go. I called several pharmacies including Target in Maryland and was told the minimum age is 9.
