I’m feeling significant anxiety over this J6 rally. I hope to hell the government is more prepared. The National Guard should be on every corner. Just like they were during the peaceful BLM March.

We don't need (nor should we want) the city to be under military occupation. I agree with you that the aggressive responses to BLM protests last summer were unnecessary and unreasonable, but doing the same thing again now wouldn't change that. I hope the government is well prepared, but they can be well prepared without putting troops on every corner.

Start taking screenshots, OP. A few of my girlfriends chatted with insurrectionists in January on Bumble, got them to admit what they did, and sent in all the screenshots to the FBI.

Not the smartest guys - they were bragging so much about their actions. I suspect they will be more discreet this time.

This entire event an Astroturfed rally being organized by "Look Ahead America," which shares office space with a ton of conservative groups with deep ties to dark corporate money - Americans for Tax Reform, The Judicial Crisis Network, etc.

I don’t really think there’s much reason to worry about them this time — there’s no constitutional process they’re trying to interrupt, right? So they’ll stomp around downtown and be assholes. Same thing they do every other day, just not usually in our city.
