| Are you picky about buying a certain brand? Why? |
| No, but I do a lot of research to decide what to buy so I do care but I don’t start with I need to buy a Mercedes. |
| As a car enthusiast, sort of. I’m only interested in buying cars that are fun to drive and have a performance aspect to it. Doesn’t have to be for raw numbers like how much HP or it’s 0-60, but what the companies ethos was when designing a particular car. This something that handles and brakes near the top of its class, sounds good, comes with a manual, and is RWD. |
| Yes, not overly picky…but somewhat picky. I want a nice car that I enjoy driving. |
|
I want certain features and layouts. Most cars today are well made and I can’t tell the difference between a Toyota and a Lexus. However. I can tell the difference between automatically being able to raise/lower the 3rd row in an SUV vs having to do it manually. I won’t pick the car thst my water bottle won’t fit into the cup holders. I need USB ports in specific locations and want one or two real plugs in the car. I also need what I call my “junk drawer”. A spot that is not in the console wheee I can toss my sunglasses, phone, mask, etc.
I’m buying the car that has these features. Could be a Lexus. BMW, Mercedes, or a Kia, Ford, Toyota. The name doesn’t impact my decision. |
| No, but I don’t have a lot of ego tied up in what I drive. |
|
Only so far as some brands are more reliable than others. For me, it's Japanese cars all the way. |
| yes but only because certain brands are so poorly made. |
| No but effectively yes because I'm picky about transmissions and being able to remove my doors. |
|
Yes. Only Honda’s because they are reasonably priced and last long.
But I don’t think that’s what you meant. |
| Yes. I have only driven Jeeps for the last 38 years. Would not switch, |
| We just buy Hondas. Nothing against Toyota, but we happen to have a family member who sells Hondas so we buy from that person. |
Why do you want to remove your doors (unless you are a teen whose parents bought them a Jeep)? |
| I don’t drive German or Japanese or Italian. Axis of Evil cars |
| Probably not what you meant, but we are Japanese car people all the way. Those are the cars we've had the best luck with--we like how they drive, how long they last, and that they're reasonably priced. We have always had Toyotas and Hondas, but also just bought a 6 year old Subaru Forester for our teenager to drive. |
