Irrational?????

I know this sounds insane, but all of my peers who were pregnant at around the same time as me seem to be pregnant again., and it's making me think I'm missing the boat. I'm just over 35, and I know the clock is ticking, but it seems to be ticking much louder because of the babies my friends are having. I love love love DC #1, and we struggled so hard to have DC#1 that I've always been at peace with the possibility that he would be an only child. But we're not trying at all at the moment, and seeing my friend 30 wks pg got me thinking. . . . Am I screwing up by not at least trying for #2? I'm just afraid that it will reopen old wounds to try unsuccessfully. Anyone been there done that?

Please don't follow blindly. You and your husband have to REALLY want more children, and start "trying". Hopefully with the understanding that if it does not happen, your lives will still be happy and fulfilled.

Do you want more? If yes, start trying naturally. If you are happy with one -- and many people are, even without fertility issues --- just be happy. Not everyone has the same "ideal" family.

And, FWIW, I did 4 IUIs and a IVF to have DC #1. DC #2 was conceived the "normal" way with very little effort or planning. And, perhaps came just a little faster than we would really have wanted him. But, we didn't really think it would work.

Sorry to hijack this thread! I am wondering about getting pregnant the second time. When trying for DD, I wasn't ovulating due to PCOS and got preg after using injectibles and timed intercourse. I would like to try for another, and I'm wondering if there is a chance that things will work without intervention.
