Looking for preschool aged subscription boxes to support kiddo as she is home in the afternoons while I'm working from home. She is almost 5. Looking for: largely independent, easy to set up, everything included, some academic tie-in. Any recommendations? |
What about an environmentally friendlier option: go to public library on weekend. Have kid pick out a bundle of books. Spend a few mins going through them yourself - you could use sticky notes to pick, say, three animals that she can then draw and color herself. Leave out art supplies. |
We like Craft + Boogie. |

PP. Good points, and I'm sorry for the holier than thou tone. Not intended at all. |
We’ve done Koala/Kiwi Crates at that age. |
Same, but they require parental assistance. |
We're trying kiwico. Will see how it goes. Worried about how independent she can be, but will try it. And to be fair, we do the library thing too for ideas and plenty of books. Just looking for additional tools that feel special for that time where I need to still work another 4 hours after she gets home until space opens up for after. |
I really don't like kiwi boxes, requires lots of my help and she gets bored of the things she creates very quickly, leaving lots of unused stuff in my house that quickly becomes trash. We won't be renewing |
Can she read yet? |
Not a box like you are looking for, but maybe Outschool classes if it’s a consistent time of day/week that you need her entertained. Alternatively, we’ve gotten some quiet time from just a sketch pad and pencils/crayons. |
