Yesterday AG Bondi was horribly disrespectful to the victims of Epstein's sex trafficking endeavor, and everyone could see that she was visibly stressed by the attacks lobed in her direction and could not manage to attack back with the cool demeanor that gaslighting requires. She needed aides to rescue her and she could not hide the fact she needed their support. She appeared weak. Gaslighting cannot work if you show you're desperately trying to gaslight.

So if you want to grade everyone on performance, Bondi just failed abysmally.

But don't say that representatives on the committee didn't grandstand. They did. They always do. That's not a failure. Apparently it's part of their job description.

You only behave like this ridiculous excuse for an Attorney General (and for a woman) behaved unless you are ready to participate in a dictatorship and believe you will either be part of the ruling junta or go down trying. I watched as much of this as I could stomach. Two things true: (1) she was a partisan hack putting on an embarrassing show for anyone who actually cares about justice, and (2) politically, she accomplished exactly what she needed to.

It so so freaking depressing that both of those things are true at once.

I disagree and don't think she is being blackmailed. Karoline is a pitbull and a believer. Bondi is just a little smarter and more aware of how she looks when she performs for her audience of one. Karoline knows some people hate her and she hates you twice as much for it. Bondi is aware that this era will end, that she has turned her family name into mud, and that she may never have a regular job again. It doesn't stop her, but she shows that she is aware.
