Does anyone have any experience with the new club Brookland FC? Have they been able to field full teams for all age groups? Do they have girls teams or coed at least? Are the Coaches USSF licensed? |
by their website, looks totally new and the person who started it doesn't want you know who they are since there are no coaching bios on the website.
Maybe the photos of Borussia Dortmund's professional team will give you the idea that your kid will get scouted to play in Germany. |
I took a look-- it looks like their non-mobile website has some more information, and the DOC has a USSF license. The others don't say: https://www.brooklandfcdc.com/coaches.html#/
They list teams playing in SAM this spring, but they aren't on the SAM website. When I've seen the kids out in the neighborhood there seem to be many kids there, but I don't know how many teams. But from what I can tell this season was their first? https://www.brooklandfcdc.com/current-select-teams-schedules.html#/ |
Looks more like bios for a soccer version of the MTV reality show the real world. |
Where do they practice? |
They put up social media for tryouts next week, but the link for the tryouts they put on the Brookland board is a dead link. It looks like tryouts are on Edgewood field. I've seen them practicing on Burroughs field too. |
Email them; they’re responsive. My kid did the non travel program this spring, and we’ve been satisfied in terms of approach and skill development. They’re Edgewood Rec only currently. Lots of neighborhood kids (Brookland, Edgewood, Woodridge, Queens Chapel, MI Park). |
Do you know what level teams than have now U9? U12? |
parking lot level |
Any recent updates on this new team? I'd love to get feedback about the difference between the experience on the junior team versus a select team for a 9 year old. Thanks! |
We did it for our little kids and they loved it. The coaches are mostly young (20s) guys who went to (I think) Gonzaga and have known eachother for years. I don’t know anything about their competitive teams. |
Anyone know if the kids are masked during select games? |
Does anyone know if they are able to create age-level teams this fall for their travel program, or are they combining a couple age levels as they did. Last year they put kids age 11-17 into an U18 program. I have an U13... do they have a team or will he be playing with 17 year olds again? |
Asking because I'm seeing their social media focusing on their "rec" or little kids program and their live streaming their summer league or their participation in the u23 "league' where the coaches are playing. Is the club about the kids or about the young adults playing soccer, |
11 year olds can play in adult leagues if they are good enough
