| Just got a letter saying that all the doctors in the practice (Siegel, McKnight, Hibshman and Salgado) are leaving by August 1. Anyone have more info on this? I'm due in mid-July and hate to find a new OB. I really like Dr. Hibshman. The letter recommends other area practices but is not saying where the doctors will be practicing after they leave Physicians for Women. |
| So they are closing the practice? That is the only thing that makes sense that all the doctors are leaving by August. Just ask at your next visit where Dr H is going. This is different than when a doctor leaves and they send you a letter after they are gone. You have like 12 - 15 more visits before you deliver and will get the best info from the doctor themselves |
| There’s another Dr. Hibshman at Capital Women’s Care in Alexandria and Fairfax - wonder if that’s a relative and if they’ll end up working together? |
| Any news on where Dr. Hibshman is going? Thanks! |
Call them and ask? |
| I tried calling 5 times over the past 3 days. No one is answering the phone at any time during normal business hours. I left a voicemail and have not heard back. |
| I called yesterday and they told me that Seigel is moving to New Jersey. All the other doctors will stay in the area but patients can't follow them because they are not going to private practice. (odd!) |
| I just received a voicemail stating that Dr. Hibshman will become a hospitalist and will no longer see patients in a clinical setting. |
| That's weird - that is where I had my son (10 years ago) and they are my gynecologists. I guess I will be looking for a new practice. Shrug. |
| Op here. Thanks to those who've shared what you heard. This is super weird that none of them will be seeing patients in a private practice. I definitely would have followed Dr. Hibshman. Oh well. |

I just went this week for an annual checkup and can give you the scoop!
Dr. Hibshman said that she and Dr. Salgado have not finalized plans, but they hope to join Dr. Ferrier’s practice. The letter that went out gives that address. I believe it’s in the Del Ray section of Alexandria. She said that she didn’t like being on call every other day, which was standard for all of them. I didn’t ask her much about the reason for everyone leaving because it didn’t really matter to me, and I wouldn’t want to provide any details on that anyhow in a public forum. |
| PP above, Dr. H also said she will be working part time in hospitals, so the vm another PP received is correct. |
Thank you! That's encouraging. I'll keep an eye out for her there. |
| Any idea how to get your medical records from an office that doesn't even answer their phone? |
Call 202-741-2768 for medical records. That is what I did. I received a packet via mail. |
