Persian women don't age

Anonymous

In 2015, the CIA World Factbook provided the following percentage breakdown of ethnicity in Iran:

61% Persian
16% Azeri
10% Kurd
6% Lur
2% Baloch
2% Arab
2% Turkmen and Turkic Tribes
1% other

Note: In 2018, The CIA World Factbook stated that Iran's ethnic groups are Persian, Azeri, Kurd, Lur, Baloch, Arab, Turkmen and Turkic tribes.2 The CIA World Factbook no longer provides percentage breakdowns of Iran's ethnic groups.

Aren't all women from Iran, Persian, and vice versa?

No, only some Iranians identify as Persians. For example, there are Iranian Kurds who do not identify as Persian. And Iranian Azeris.

What? That’s news to me. I’m Iranian Azeri and just consider myself Persian. I say I’m Iranian actually because I’m proud of being from Iran.

I think you meant to write this for the ‘Eastern European’ who refers to herself as Persian.

Reading comprehension. The E.European poster clearly said that she uses the term (as in, refers to people from Iran as Persian) because she had a lot of Persian friends and that was how they identified.

She looks like a good looking woman in her mid forties. My peers and I are all 43-48 or so and look pretty much like that. It's normal. People have a warped idea of what women are supposed to look like in their forties.

Maybe it's because I know a lot of Persians (I lived in Iran years ago) but I think it's because they are disassociating themselves from the current regime. I can respect that and call them Persians. The name of the country doesn't always have to define the people.

To say you are "Persian" is affected.

So, the hundreds of Iranians I know are all "affected". Cool, I'll tell them.
I've literally never known an Iranian who didn't refer to him or herself as Persian. And that includes Iranians of all colors and religions.

This is not what the moms in my neighborhood look like

Then your neighborhood isn’t wealthy enough. This is EXACTLY what almost every mom in my neighborhood looks like. And it looks like everyone I hang out with in Nantucket.

This has nothing to do with ethnicity and everything to do with money.

She looks at least 40.

I'm not rich. Nor do I live in a particularly wealthy neighborhood. But this woman looks like a typical forty-something. In the first picture, they look like a dumpy couple out for date night.

Did she or her worst enemy bump this trainwreck of a thread?

You know who I think is a gorgeous, ageless Persian woman? Shohreh Aghdashloo, who turns 70 next year.

This woman looks a decade younger and is gorgeous.

There are beautiful women fifty and over of all ethnicities and races. I do think that darker skin and hair ages better - it is easier to see skin damage on pale blondes, and their brows/lashes start to look sparse (I should know, this is my family). Of course wealthy people can “fight” aging better, too.
