Which "side" of Manhattan do you prefer - East or West? Note this isn't "just" the UWS and UES.
Fifth Ave. being the boundary. |
| West. |
| Depends on which part of Manhattan and which decade. |
| West side is more residential. |
Exactly. I grew up on the UES and prefer it just because it's home. But as you head downtown, I guess I prefer the West Side but below 59th st I don't really think that much about east vs west. |
| west. east side doesn't have anything but apartments. west side has riverside park and the hudson. |
OP said not just uptown. |
Well that makes no sense. What does W Harlem have to do with the W Village? Still, I'll go with West for the river. |
I agree. I also prefer the UWS to the UES. So does everyone who matters. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1aRg0HubHw |
Because UES/UWS is so commonly done. |
|
UWS- better restaurants
With the exception of a few fine dining restaurants, UES is a restaurant dead zone. |
| Below 14th, above 110th. Hate midtown, UES, UWS. |
|
Neither. Brooklyn all the way, baby!
|
| West |
| Both are a different crowd. Always thought of the West Side as more artsy, liberal East Side as more Wall Street and preppy. Of course these are generalizations. |
