I'm the OP of the winter coat thread. It just occurred to me that I also need to get my kids snow pants. Now, I've grown up here my whole life. I know that snow pants get used a handful of times unless you are an avid skier. My kids ski/snow tube 1-2x a season. They still enjoy going out to play in the snow (and will stay out for hours). So, I've always bought them snow pants/bibs. However, I usually buy them at burlington. My kids like the snow bibs better than the snow pants because they complain that snow gets inside their jacket and goes down their pants. They have now outgrown the kids sizes at burlington, and last year I could not find anything but snow pants in the bigger sizes there. So, which snow pants/bibs do you like better--Columbia, Lands End, LLBean, North Face, etc?
FWIW, I will be looking for sales for these. I just cannot see spending hundreds of dollars on snow pants that will not get worn near as much as a winter coat. |
| Marmot from EMS |
| Costco |
OP here. Ok, so my kids have been out of the kids sizes at Costco for awhile. I have not checked (but I intend to). Thank you. I would have completely overlooked Costco. |
| I generally look at Sierra trading post first and get whatever seems good and is a good deal. |
| EBAY. |
| Target |

| Sorry for the duplicate, I hadn't finished typing and hit submit too soon... |

I have never seen bibs at Costco for big kids (not saying they don't have them, just saying I've never seen them).
I like Lands' End because, of the brands you listed, I can get the best deal on them. |
OP here. I've done Target before and they have not been waterproof. I am also checking there because year to year their stuff can be different. |
OP---I've never seen them either, but I guess it's worth checking. I am keeping an eye out for sales of all the brands at this point (I know it's early, but it seems like sales happen earlier each year). |

I grew up in New England and NY - both places with tons of cold and tons of snow. I never had snow pants or snow bibs. I had a winter jacket. I played in the snow in jeans. Then I came inside, hung my jeans over the shower bar to dry and put on sweatpants. I skied in jeans also.
So you can probably see why I think buying these are a total waste of money. |
| Target. If you have an older girl don't buy pink unless little bro will wear pink when you pass it down. |
Yes, we've had this issue, too. |
