received GBRS

NNAT 129 (96%)
CogAt Verbal 113 (79%) Quantitative 137 (99%) Nonverbal 121 (91%)
Composite is 130 (97%)
GBRS 16

I did a referral and parent questionnaire. Chances of getting into AAP?

Total guess, but I'm thinking you have a good shot at it. In general, it appears that the committee likes to see at least 2 data points confirming a "need" for AAP. The GBRS is great, obviously, and I have to believe that is given a lot of weight. Far from a long shot, but not a slam dunk, either.

If I had to guess, I'd say you would get in. GBRS seems to be KING ( and 16 is the best you can get) and you have almost pool scores on CogAT.

Did you submit work samples? I think you're chances are good but would have been better with work samples.

Very good. My two kids just missed the minimum test scores but got high GBRS (15 and 16) and got in. I agree that GBRS is king.

It's one of the FCPS. I did submit work samples.

Good thing it's so subjective then.

The AART send me this email. "I wish I had a magic answer for you! I can tell you that XXXXX has a strong file. His scores are good and no, a 16 GBRS is not common. The committee looks at everything. When I read files at central screening, I absolutely look closely at the GBRS, since that is what the student is showing at school in their every day learning environment."

I am hopeful.

My child got a 16 GBRS and got in, but was in the pool.

Yes DK should get in.

I can't see anyone with a 16 GBRS not getting in. Unless their test scores were really far from 132.

I've seen posts on this forum with 16 GBRS and not getting in.

With scores in the 129-130 range? No way.

Your child us a classic case of a high achiever who does not need AAP but will likely get in because the program is so bloated.
