| Any of you have any success stories? |
| Where did Michael Steele send his kids? |
| Likely Eleanor Roosevelt science and tech |
| For privates likely Seton/DeMatha with a hook like a sport. |
| Let's not. |
+1 |
| Huh, what do the above answers mean? |
| I went to Roosevelt science and tech class of 04 and quite a few of my S/T classmates attended Ivy League schools. |
| It's not always where you go, but what you accomplish. Believe it or not, there are students who attended Flowers High School, presumably the science tech program, and got into Harvard. In addition to excellent grades and test scores, artistic and sports gifts or talents, contribute to college acceptance. Including Ivy League. |
Flowers science and tech program sent someone to MIT |
Heck I went to Duval one of my classmates went to Cornell, another Colgate |
It means that it's a pointless conversation because as the past two PPs have pointed out, it's less about where you go and more about the individual student's drive, desire to attend an Ivy, and their accomplishments. |
I don't fully agree. The high school does matter a lot. There is a reason schools like TJ in Alexandria have such a good reputation. But, yes the kid still needs to to have the drive and desire. |
| AA kids at IVY (and any top schools) are viewed/assumed as beneficiary of AAction and not merit based. |
