a new thread about Casey DeSantis's strange fashion choices

I think her clothes are typically bonkers was this was totally fine. Maybe not perfect but I would not blame anyone for not having the perfect outfit to attend an outdoor memorial for people killed in a racist mass shooting. Hopefully we are not yet at the point where that is so predictable that every professional woman should have something sitting in her closet for it. I also appreciate that they came off the campaign trail for it and maybe there were more important things to do than an afternoon with a personal shopper/stylist.

I otherwise detest this couple but I am throwing no shade for this sad sundress, which is about right for this sad occasion.

I think any one of us - including me, who has worked from home for 15 years - could poke in our closets and find something other than this weird dress to wear to a memorial for people who died in a mass shooting. Especially, ESPECIALLY, given who they are and what this occasion was. This was the time to look perfectly appropriate. I guess we should just be glad she wasn't wearing a gold strapless dress with long white gloves and that FLORIDA: WHERE WOKE GOES TO DIE leather jacket.

I think it's probably this dress, which is perfectly fine for an outdoor vigil (NOT a memorial service or funeral) in August in Florida. (I also remember that Casey was treated for breast cancer and I bet part of her treatment is suppression of hormones. As a fellow BC survivor who was diagnosed in her 40's, trust me, being thrown into menopause at that age is very difficult and the hot flashes are a nightmare.)

and why is meatball always wearing those stupid boots? he’s not from texas. he’s from a rich town just by tampa.

trying again:

Not a fan of Casey's choices, but I think this is fine. She's a spouse attending an outdoor vigil in 90 degree weather.

i am the pp and it is a really weird thing to wear. do you see anyone else there wearing an outfit that would be appropriate at a sinatra-themed dinner theater? no, everyone else is wearing (1) clothes for daytime, and (2) sleeves. i don't care if she wants to show off her arms and shoulders - but spaghetti straps are a little... festive... for this occasion.

To be fair, a woman seated in what looks like the third row, right behind the man in the royal blue polo shirt, and holding up her phone is wearing a sleeveless shirt so also has bare arms.

Um... those aren't spaghetti straps. No one cares but you. She looks appropriate - both for the occasion and the weather.

+1 Clearly these complaining posters either can't suppress their hatred of her or are not acquainted with Florida's heat and humidity.

They aren’t in a Catholic Church or a synagogue. She was dressed fine, if a little dressy. It’s hot.

Also another woman, in the upper left of the picture, and wearing a straw hat.

I’m very familiar with it so I wouldn’t wear a black tea-length dress in it.

If it were a sleeveless sheath, it wouldn’t be so weird to me.

It’s fine, I mean it’s not wildly inappropriate. It’s just off as a fashion choice to me. The earrings aren’t helping. It just looks like she’s going to dinner.

I don't think it's the clothes for me as much as the constant pageant hair and make up. Like she wants to be ready at a moment's notice to get up on stage and sing "Save the Best for Last"

If someone can find me a picture of a head of state or head of state’s wife at a daytime event in this silhouette, hair and jewelry I’ll take it all back.

I am the person who started this thread, posted that photo of Casey DeWhattheheck, and I live in Florida. So yes, I am acquainted with the heat, the humidity, the DeSantises, and what you should and shouldn't wear to an event in this state.

Yes, exactly. She looks like she stopped by on her way to dinner. Not like it's a daytime event held because Black people were murdered en masse by a racist killer.

Her clothes are totally fine if she just discovered that her grandmother is the queen of Genovia and she's the last surviving heir.
