Is the "don't tread on me" license plate exclusively Virginia's?

Can’t speak for everyone, but most pro-life people I know support procedure to protect the life of the mother. Why don’t pro abortion people ever acknowledge that the overwhelming majority of abortions are done for convenience? Why don’t they care about the lives of unborn women?

As of 2022, the following states offer the option of obtaining a Gadsden flag specialty license plate: Alabama, Arizona,[32] Florida,[33][34] Kansas,[35] Maryland,[36] Missouri, Montana,[37] Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee,[38] Texas, and Virginia.[39][40]

This may be an option in Maryland but I have never seen one.

You may support these procedures but these laws have resulted in women not being able to access them. That’s what has happened because of the obsessive focus on unborn children at the expense of living women. Not to mention the obscene lack of care for children after they are born into challenging circumstances or are victims of rampant gun violence. Such hypocrites.

It just doesn't fit their narrative

There’s already a pro-abortion plate.

Reflects mainstream values. Most of America is pro-abortion, at least in the sense of keeping it legal. Overwhelming support. One reason Republican political candidates are so terrified of the upcoming election.

Most Americans also want some restriction on abortion too. The pro rights people keep ignoring this. Something like a European abortion compromise would suit most Americans. Legal for first trimester but banned afterwards.

Most American's supported abortion under Roe which had restrictions.

Roe was very reasonable. Protection for women, up to a point.

With absolutely no basis in Constitutional law. Thank God for Dobbs!

Lol. Change the justices and change the law. Now the goal is to change the justices back to those that have some respect for women.

I always laugh when I see those on foreign cars, especially British ones.

Those people have no concept what the Gadsden flag actually means. And all MAGA boosters hate America and all that it stands for. They’re all traitors.

Wasn’t aware there were any MAGA in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican support for Biden over Trump is huge.

My British husband has one on his car. He knows exactly what it means In fact, many expat Brits I know are Republicans. Not everyone is as ignorant as you are.

Where do they live?

My expat Brit DH and many of his expat friends are liberals. Conservatives in the UK are more like moderate Dems here - so says DH.

I think you're fos.

Nope. Sorry. There are many different kinds of people. All Brits living in the US don’t think the same…and just because a Brit has one of the license plates doesn’t mean they don’t understand what it means. All common sense; therefore, I can see why you think I’m fos.

Unlike some of you I do know a thing or two about American history, warts and all. And while I have no love for Turnip and many of his voters, the irony is that their stances are much closer to the original American dedication to liberty. Muh freedom is actually about you know, freedom.

People will certainly disagree over extent of freedom and liberty. For some the freedom to abort babies is very important, for others it's a profoundly moral issue because all fetuses are future human lives. But outside abortion, it's hard to see the Democrats as more pro-America than Turnip's followers. Modern Democrats are much closer to the European social democratic model than the traditional liberal democracy of the United States, which, by the way, requires broad and open support for things like freedom of press, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, the right to own guns, transparency, and rejection of a nanny state where unelected bureaucrats dictate policy. The modern Democratic party has substantially embraced restrictions on freedoms in the name of public safety, aka the combating disinformation campaigns and policies (despite that a lot of what was called disinformation turned out to be true, har har). And the COVID restrictions, and the refusal to question CDC despite that they were often contradictory and even wrong. Anyone who spends time in red areas versus blue areas knows that rainbow and BLM flags outnumber American flags in blue cities by a staggering amount whereas the reverse is true in Magaland. We know who the new gods are for the Democrats and it's not the stars and stripes.

I don't have a particular love for Turnip, as already mentioned, but nor do I find the Democrats particularly admirable and in many ways, they are much worse. But I am sympathetic to the don't tread on me if it means I just want to be left alone from busybodies.

It's hard to take this seriously when, at the time, liberty only applied to certain demographics.

I suppose what you say is true though. Conservatives want to go back to how things were way back then for those privileged demographics.

dp.. abortion is abortion. If you say it should not be used by women who don't want/can't afford a baby, then this is about forced birth and punishment, not about the baby.

I can also tell whenever someone says, "but what about the baby", and then in the next breath they say, "why should I as a taxpayer have to pay for that baby that the mother couldn't afford. She should've kept her legs closed", that it's about punishing the woman for having sex and not really about the baby's life.

Ha ha. That’s exactly the meme I was thinking about. I don’t do bumper stickers or political plates. I do have the state seal on one vehicle and a Surfrider Foundation plate on another. My son bought a truck in 2018 and the seller let him drive home with the plates. It was a Gadsden flag and my son was embarrassed. He was at DMV the next morning to get proper plates. I have seen a LGB vanity plate and I hope someone complained to DMV.

Maybe in your part of the DMV, not in the real world.

Real world? Like a trailer park in Missouri?

NP. My childhood friends from the trailer park are mostly pro-choice. Hell, I drove one of them to get an abortion the summer after senior year.

NNP: Thank you for making this point. Although there are a LOT of people who have had abortions who are anti-choice when it comes to OTHER women.

My super strict catholic rw in laws forced their daughter to have a late term abortion where she had to actually give birth and mil was on the pill and she hated having kids. They would attack any woman who wanted an abortion.

When the Gadsen plate started appearing I thought it was all about being a gun nut. I assume all magas are gun nuts.

This makes no sense. Women have the right to control their own bodies and you should not have a say.

I am ambivalent about abortion but I like this a lot for a license plate.
