Henry Cavill is 40, they wanted someone younger (he probably won't get James Bond for the same reason).
David Corenswet is 29. Can't say I'm impressed, but I didn't think much of Daniel Craig when he was cast as James Bond and he ended up being my favorite (along with Connery). |

Craig was 38 when he landed bond. Cavill is in better shape and looks perfect to be Bond. David looks almost as good as Henry but not quite an imitation of Henrey. They should have just kept Henry. And how many times do you have re-do the beginning of Superman, Spider-Man, etc? |

Most of the Superman actors were much smaller pre-audition than they were when they filmed.
pre-Superman Christopher Reeves:

All of them bulked up after getting cast. If Corenswet if going to be Superman, he'll do the same. |
