| My neighbors and I are so tired of asking rude people to keep their dogs away from our homes. But we can't be there all the time and some pet owners are just inconsiderate. I've had to hose down the mailbox so many times because it smells. I heard that chili powder works really well at keeping dogs out, but I'm afraid a child might get into it. Does anyone have any idea what I can use? I know they have some products on amazon, but two of my neighbors tried them all and nothing really works, so everyone is talking about the chili powder. Any feedback would be welcomed, thank you in advance! |
| Small white fence? |
Ha ha ha rootbeer out my nose |
Yes! Perfect. |
| you sniff your mailbox post regularly? |
| It's pee, not hazardous waste. |
No, but it smells when I got to pick up my mail, and I shouldn't period. I have two kids and they have complained about the smell also when they get the mail. So I do have to hose it and so do my neighbors. |
| Mix cayenne and chili powder, place it around the post and dogs will avoid it. I actually had a crazy lady ring my bell and complain about it because her dog developed a rash. I politely told her if she would keep her dog off my property there would be no problem. People are gross. |
Get a bigger dog!

Hahaha. I know, right. Unclench. It will eventually rain. Breathe..... |
| I think you're unhinged, but in an effort to be helpful, I will tell you that they sell a spray at pet stores that will do the trick. (I think it's bitter apple) |
+100 Dog person here. Tired of inconsiderate dog owners that are really, really bad at feigning ignorance. |
| You can buy bulk cayenne pepper for a good price on Amazon. There are liquid animal repellents I have tried, but they smell worse than the urine, repelling people too. |
OMG! I love the motion-activated sprinkler! |
