| We're finding more and more clients complaining about small charges. At first it was intermittent and now is an every day occurrence. They will ask us to print and package another copy of a product they requested which takes close to 1 hour to complete. We typically only bill 1/2 hour of time but still get a request to remove the 1/2 hour. Change orders come in to reduce the cost by $50 on projects with costs into the millions which take us on average 4 hours to fix with no compensation. This is at an engineering company. Just curious if this is happening everywhere or just in our field. It's exhausting trying to please them when before for the same type of work we were getting accolades. |

It's why I got out of catering.
Until recently I also worked part-time for a small graphic design company and it was the same there. |
| Yes it happens in every industry. This is why you have to be able to justify all charges. |
| when f100 firms begin to complain about charges that biglaw firms run up during transactions then why is anyone surprised it happens much further down the food chain |
| I made a change to do 1 hour minimum problem solved. |
the infamous problem solved poster. |
| Pretty common. I am in the legal field and there is much more scrutiny of costs. I am in house and the stuff I ask my outside counsel to write off was stuff I routinely charged when I was in private practice 15 years ago (and people paid without batting any eye). |

Totally common now.
Your options are to fire the bad clients, change your policies on payment, or go out of business, I guess! It stinks, but thank the 1% for holding on to all of America's money so the rest of us get to squabble in the dirt with our clients, justifying every penny. |
Hee. There's "bitch, bye", "I'll bite" and now "problem solved". Oh and the russian or eastern european posters who are easy to spot. It's like we're all friends now! |
