Yes. I'm actually somewhere between quiet quitting and loud quitting. I am an independent contractor and I work at two places; one place I'll stay (they are great), and the second place I will take only the higher paying gigs from now on (there are two types of projects there, and one pays twice as much as the other, but there is a lot more work available with the lower paying one). So I'll still be there, but I'm not going to do anywhere near as much.
I’ve been doing it since 2017 when I got F’d over by my boss.
I am not sure if it qualifies as quiet quitting, but I am planning on scaling back a lot. In my industry, long hours are expected, so I assume it will eventually get noticed...
I tried to quiet quit and it didn't work. I keep getting pulled into more things and don't want to risk my reputation. I think maybe I need to quit for real.
Yep. I withdrew a bit after experiencing some burnout, then realized I was just hurting myself and went through a bit of a personal renaissance… which I leveraged into a new job. Start positioning yourself for the next thing, then quit, loudly. Feels great. |
I quiet quit! I have 3 years left to retirement. I never speak up in our large meetings, I don't volunteer for committees or anything extra. I didn't go to the company party this year or last. I do my job but cut corners where I can. I am going to start taking more leave but do it strategically where I miss full day trainings.
