DC Public and Public Charter Schools
His kids do not go to lamb. You’re thinking of someone else. None of the lamb parents on the Board are Latino. I think there are only 1 or 2 people on the board that are Latino. I’m glad we are done with lamb after this year. Charis is out of her depth and the Board looked confused and has already to rubber stamped all of her poor choices. For those who didn’t attend, it was clear to me the chair and charis added equitable access preference to lamb without any plan on how to support those kids or get them to school. To me, it seemed like they wanted to add that to their resumes without any interest on how it will affect the school. |
I don’t know why you keep saying this. His children absolutely go to LAMB. I saw them at dropoff this morning. |

The board chair just changed. Alan, the past president, does have kids at the school. Akeem does not have kids
as far as I know. Last night was his first night as chair. |

| NP. Ugh. I couldn't attend last night. Absolutely love Michelle! She knows my family by name and has always been the most competent of all the administrators. Terrible decision. With the other two, nothing ever comes out of their mouths that isn't just a bunch of word salad. |

Charis' communication skills are abysmal. I cannot think of worse ways to handle the situation than how she did.
In principle, I understand that neither the Board nor parents have real sway over personnel decisions. However, I would argue that some key staff positions, such as Mrs. Mangan's AP role, can have a direct impact on school performance. Thus, I think both the Board and the parents should have a say on the matter, especially when there seems to be a consensus that the ED's decision is negatively impacting the school. |
Is it a money grab? I know adding new students after 1st grade was to backfill positions and get the extra money primarily (although they would also claim that it's to keep families/the community together). I wish more energy was spent keeping kids from leaving in the first place. |
I'm worried we will lose even more staff over this decision. As someone mentioned, having both a Montessori and Spanish language background isn't very common. |
|
I PARTIALLY agree with Charis for once, Michelle shouldn't be the AP... instead, I think she would make a much better Executive Director!
She has tremendous rapport with families, speaks both languages and recently got her Montessori certification that in addition to her previous credentials. Ugh, we can only dream... |
| Yes!! Michelle should definitely be Executive Director. I completely agree with that. |
She would make a great principal too! Literally the only administrator we have been able to count on for all these year. I have no trust in Charis or Greg. Some parents have no idea who the prinicipal of the school is since he literally NEVER communicates with parents. |
|
We will seriously consider leaving the school over this terrible decision. Michelle is THE BEST.
One more day to consider the lottery - where should we apply
|
| 100%. Michelle should be Executive Director or Principal. She is outstanding. Maybe this is precisely the reason why Charis doesn’t want Michelle in the school? |
TR did the same damn thing! |
I think Ms Alex is also wonderful. I have had great experiences with her. |
