Small sectional sofa?

Anonymous
Is that an oxy-moron?

I spent the weekend looking at sectionals for my small family room. I don't want just one sofa, a loveseat or a separate chair. I want them all to be connected.

I loved the sectionals at Crate and Barrel and Arhaus, but the dimensions are too big for my space (at least one side). Most of the sectionals I sat on were stiff and uncomfortable. I like one you just melt into (with down filled cushions if possible).

Any other suggestions...? Too impossible?

Also...does anyone know the manufacturer for the C&B Axis sectional...?

Thanks!!!

a couple of suggestions--

google the term "apartment sectional" and see what you get

look at furniture stores like CB2, Room & Board, and West Elm that cater to clients in cities/apartments

Find a Rowe furniture dealer (Hamilton Sofa Gallery is one) and have a sectional made. The Rowe furniture line is what is sold in places like Pottery Barn but for a 50% markup.

Have you looked at the Ikea options? A few seem more scaled down in size. We have the Ektorp sectional and it worked in our 800 sq ft apartment and now in our 1600 sq ft house.

We saw a fairly small one at Ethan Allen that we liked. We ended up going through a third party decorator who orders from wholesalers so we could get a custom-sized one, which fits perfectly.

Yes.

I didn't find them very comfortable. I like to sink in a sofa and the Erktop kept me pretty upright and stiff.

Thanks for the suggestion!!

I got a smaller sectional through JC Penney - it's perfect for our small house and has held up reasonably well to 2 boys. It was a special order and no longer seems to be on their website but it was similar to the Pottery Barn Pearce sectional (only smaller and much less pricey.) I also saw nice ones at Havertys that would have fit my space.

Ha! I think I know you. Did you try Costco? They actually have some great sectionals. So does The Room Store & Jennifer Convertibles.

Also Macys.

My mom got an awesome one from Overstock.com

Some of the sectionals at Room and Board come in two different sizes (cushion sizes, so technically seat the same number of people). A lot of their stuff seemed to work well in smaller spaces.

Also, check out La-Z-Boy

I think Rowe is made in VA too. At least it used to be....It is made in the USA.

How about this one?

CB's Axis line is very large and deep and probably made by Mitchell Gold.

Belfort furniture and Hamiltons are both Rowe dealers.

I recently found a small sectional, Traditional style, in a neutral color at the Colony House going-out-of business sale. I know they had at least one more available. Dimensions 92x92. We've had ours for almost three weeks and couldn't be happier! I also searched high and low and ran into the same issues you're facing, OP, for small sectionals. Good luck!
