s/o If Want Me To Take My Shoes Off In Your House

Anonymous
Am I allowed to place my bottom on your toilet? Just wondering. It would seem my bare butt & the possible exchange of pubic hair/body fluids would be much more offensive to you than anything on the bottom of my shoes.

Explain why this is okay to you or do you have a sanitary toilet sheet covering dispenser in your powder room? Do you run in there with bleach between users and sanitize the seat? Door knobs? Faucets? How is this not equally gross to you?

Do tell how you handle the bathroom situation.

My kids crawl around on the floor and put everything in their mouths.
Mainly though, I like to keep my carpets clean. The kids are resilient. Carpet, not so much.
I take off my shoes in my own house, but I would never ask someone to do the same. It's rude. People usually see my shoes by the door and offer to take them off. I always tell them it's not necessary.

OMG!!! Let the subject rest. Either you refuse to take off your shoes in the seemingly few households that demand it of all their guests, or you keep it on and most hosts deal with it.

OMG!!!! Just don't respond if you are done with the topic.

Actually, toilet seats are really very clean. Even public ones.

"exchange of pubic hair"??!!! LOL! Who sheds pubic hair on the toilet?

Honestly, for me, this is only really an issue in the winter, when it's wet outside. When you come in my house, I'd rather you took your shoes off by the door, so that the rest of us walking around in socks or slippers don't spend our day stepping in the snow puddles your shoes leave on the floor. If it's such a problem for you, don't come over.

And yes, I'm fine with you sitting on my toilet seat. It gets cleaned once a week, and if you are so messy in the bathroom that there are fluids and hairs all over the seat when you're done, it sounds like you have bigger issues than not wanting to take off your shoes in someone else's house.

Actually, it's quite easy. I don't invite jackasses like you over to my house.

I love the image of these people going into houses where this is asked and spending the entire visit fuming about it. Then they go tell their friends about the humiliation they had to endure. The horror!

Funny as hell.

Call me crazy, then. I clean the bathroom before and after having guests over

And I take my shoes off. You're welcome to do so if you wish. I won't ask you to.

Oh, and my crawling baby doesn't lick the toilet, yet

Spin off thread are usually "mocking" the original thread.

I am mocking the original thread.

Obviously I do not shed public hair (brazilian thank.you.very.much.) or rub bodily fluids all over toilet seats.

I wouldn't friends would someone as dense as you to begin with so it's a WIN! WIN! for both of us.

Perhaps you should wax your bikini line better. I'm more concerned with the fact that you don't groom your pubic hair. Perhaps I don't want to invite you over if you won't take off your shoes and are shedding pubic hair from your nasty self.

Get thee to a wax! Your husband will thank you.

I don't have pets. We have a weekly cleaning service. I really like my bare floors and carpet clean. Is that ok with you? What makes you think our toilet seats aren't cleaned at least once a week?

SHUT UP!

Seriously. This is what, the 4th thread on this?

Here's the issue - some people are germophobes. Some people are feetophobes. Some people are just more comfortable with their shoes off and find that taking shoes off makes their lives easier and their house cleaner. Common courtesy when you are a guest in someone's home is to take your shoes if if you see shoes at the door and your hosts shoeless.

Contrary to popular misconceptions, you can't catch STDs or anything else from toilet seats.

Shoes on the other hand bring in lead, pesticide and herbicide runoff, crap from catalytic converter exhaust and so on and so forth. If they only brought in dog shit, the most you could get from them is a bad dose of worms.
